I didn't say that Xbox 360 owners get bored of games quickly, just more quickly than other console owners. It's a part of why I think the attach rate is as high as it is. I see a lot of people on Xbox Live who own tons of games and yet have few achievements in each of them (even ones that are really easy to get). That means that either they're not playing the games, or there's some special way to hide your achievements that I don't know about.

Actually currently the Xbox 360 has a lower % of software market share relative to hardware market share: I.E Software % < Hardware %. So either they pirate, rent or are so immensely satisfied with past games that they don't move onto new ones. I would suspect its a combination of the 3 as Halo 3 for example has an average playtime of over 120 hours over x% of Live connected 360s.
