I disagree.... I think piracy has created a huge chunk of PSPs sold.
Without piracy... these PSPs just wouldn't of sold.
It's like the Ipod. Is piracy hurting Itunes sales....? Or is it pushing more Ipods.
Studies seem to show it's the latter.

You don't pirate games you don't want to play. Obviously these people want to play these games, they are just taking the free and easy option. In time, most of these people would have bought one anyway, I believe.
|
Do you buy every game you want to play? What if Uncharted 2 cost $400?
Do you buy really expensive food you would like to eat whenever you would want to eat it? Or do you say "You know... that tastes good but it's too expensive."
|
That's why I said "in time". They may have not been able to buy it right away, but eventually as the software comes, many would buy it or save up and buy it. This isn't some third world country where games cost $150 on $900 consoles forcing people to start illegally downloading. In the main markets, PSP and most games are affordable.

You don't get it. To some people. Paying 40 dollars for a game is like paying 400. Because it's not worth it to them.
These are the people who pirate mostly according to current economic theory.
I mean you've never done something you've enjoyed that you wouldn't pay for? Really? Nothing?
|
Don't agree with that at all. They want to play the games. They've made a $200 investment to play the games. I'm sure they would be willing to pay $20 if it was the only option.
I used to pirate PSP games. My cousin did it for me, easy stuff. I would have bought them, but why bother when I could get them for free?

Because most people aren't sociopaths?
Also... you can disagree... but people made that 200 dollar investment because the games were free.
I mean you can disgree... but your disagreement is going against expert opinion.

No, just yours =)
Most people aren't sociopaths? What is meant by that?
