Honestly, look at the markets of each system. I don't think 40 year old moms or little kids would even know where to begin with hacking, or even know it's possible. PSP's market is directly in-line with tech-savy males who would be most likely to hack it. That, and PSP has gained a large reputation for being an easy to pirate handheld. And the guy is right. It does hurt software. Obviously some people buy it becuase they want to download games, but many people would just as easily buy the system regardless, maybe not right away, but as the software was coming so would these fans. |
The 40 something moms might have kids in the teens or the kids might have siblings in the teens. If your mom or your brother/sister bought a PSP/DS and you know how to hack it, wouldn't you help them?
On Topic: I guess that's why it hurts PS3 sales. It has not yet been hacked like 360 and Wii.
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
