-Skype is already available on several phones, and it is rumored to be coming to iPhone as well.

Skype launched on iPhone a few weeks ago. Oh course there were tons of Skype compatible VOIP choices long before that.

I just want to add that I think Sony is in a weaker place respective to the iPhone than Ninty. The PSP is a slow seller with a smaller install base, more media oriented, and is a software graveyard. If I was Apple I would focus on them, because they are more similar devices and Sony is in a pretty weak position, especially in regards to handhelds.

But heres the deal. Apple made a powerfull phone so that it could do what they wanted it to. Then they released and SDK to allow others to use that HW. I frankly don't think they care what devs use it for as long as they get a cut.

For many of us mobile gaming is such a rare thing that buying a PSP or DSi just doesn't make sence. That is the market Apple will do well in. If you are a hardcore gamer who wants new big releases weekly, I just don't think Apple is concerned with you.
