I think CTYD is way underrated. Since the game's biggest apparent sin is that it does meet some arbitrary graphics standards and that Capcom supposedly didn't spend enough, and I find those to be bogus reasons (have yet to see a shred of proof the graphics would have been improved by spending more), I find the game is put down a lot more than it deserves to be.*
I've stated before there are legit reasons, but these are used far more than the legit ones.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
