Maybe if it wasn't a royal pain in the fucking ass to program. Seriously? 256 megs? And 256 for video? That has fail written all over it when it comes to ease of use. I'm glad that things are the way they are. If sony continues they won't try to be interesting and jsut stick with what is easy to program for.

With your attitude, we would only have games running on single core processors.  I guess when you're pushing technology into the future, there will always me narrow-minded people fighting it.

BTW, RSX can use either or both 256MB RAM areas.  The main issue with some devs coding for the PS3 is the SAME issue they have with PC.  They haven't learned to truly multi-thread their code.

I knwo it can use both, that's why I added both. In the end it still addsup to 512 megabytes of memory which is extremely low. You really learn to appreciate every single bit of memory if you have ever coded assembly. If people need to learn how to bounce data around the processors over storing it in memory and letting it chill there until needed, that's a whole different coding philosphy from what people have had to deal with so far. In the end it's jsut a bad design decision and hopefully sony learns their lesson this time around.
