well, one lone car does not measure up to all the merchandise, the huge fan base, and Halo's Warthog, complete with 4 wheel turning. (there may be more of these as it was created for THE MOVIE)

If you're going to measure something, you have to set criteria. So what makes something more popular than something else?

I'll repost my last post:

But we are talking overall popularity, not sales.

Well then, if we are to distinguish between the two, define popularity, show me how it is at all provable, and how one could seperate themself from the bias of their environment (e.g. if you live in North America, own only a 360 and Halo is a common talking point among friends).

Anyhow, the best measure of popularity for a product is sales and/or demand. Would you disagree?

Who sets the criteria? It has been stated many times in this very thread, first of we are talking this gen, not last, so sales numbers are irrelevant at this point, and second, if it were only sales, then I guess many Wii games are more popular than either. However you don't see all the hype or following for any of the GT series or Wii games that Halo 3 received.

Dude you are as hopeless as they get.  The thread title is clearly asking which is the more popular..."SERIES".  Series.   Gran Turismo 1, 2, 3,4 Prologue, 4, 5 Prologue, 5....Halo 1,2,3,ODST.

se⋅ries

[seer-eez] Show IPA noun, plural -ries, adjective –noun

1. a group or a number of related or similar things, events, etc., arranged or occurring in temporal, spatial, or other order or succession; sequence.
2. a number of games, contests, or sporting events, with the same participants, considered as a unit: The two baseball clubs played a five-game series.
3. a set, as of coins or stamps.
4. a set of successive volumes or issues of a periodical published in like form with similarity of subject or purpose.

The OP using the word "Series"  completely means that he is referring to not just this 'gen' but every pre-existing generation in which there was a series of this sort.   When talking about the series and it's overall popularity you are talking definitely about the entire set of games popularity on a World-Wide basis.

You're wrong, narrow-minded and completely oblivious to the facts no matter how many times it's been thrown in your face.

You need to throw in Halo Wars.

Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."
