so if I understand you correctly, you are having one of these disk drive errors mentioned in that other thread?

Which other thread? I think the drive is louder than it originally was but it has never failed to work.

On another note, sometimes when I turn my 360 off it kinda powers off (the green light goes out) but the fan stays on. Turning it back on & back off almost always turns it off "for real".

Has anyone else heard of this problem?

[edit:  I presume you mean the "Halo 3 disc read error" thread.  Whatever is the matter with my disc drive, it wasn't caused by any kind of software issue including Halo 3.  I've played the game for several hours now so I guess I'm safe from that, at least.]
