I seriously doubt that 4-5 million 360 owners neglected to get their 360's repaired , considering it's a legal requirment for MS to repair/replace broken 360's in the warranty period and the warranty period for the most serious 360 fault was extended along with the E47 error.

But all this is guess work really.
