Two/Three years ago every analyst predicated the PS3 would be in first and the Wii would be in last. That was the most likely scenario of the time. The Nintendo Wii's success wasn't something most people expected. In fact, most everyone "predicting" the Wii's success at the time were the kooks who always bet against the majority for everything desperately hoping to win the virtual lottery with one lucky prediction among dozens (who also probably bet on the Gamecube as well). |
But the prediction was made after both Wii and PS3 launched though. He brought up good points in both Next-Gen Development Cost Woes? and The Future Is Multi-Platform Releases sections. However, he basically thought Nintendo is a fad and did not take the early success of Wii and the high price point of PS3 into consideration.
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
