MS got so lucky, the country that caused the recession is the one where they are strongest. Many are going for the cheaper option now, was the economy OK the price cut would not have been this effective.

When PS1 launched situation couldn't have been more favorable for Sony, it's as if the whole universe was rooting for it. A delayed, expensive and cartridge-based N64, a hard-to-program, expensive Saturn, etc, etc. Don't talk about luck, MS took some great decisions (early launch, good online, rooting for 3rd parties, low entry price) and it's just paying off.

a 100% failure rate, GREEEEEEAAAT DECISION! xbox 360 is a good systme but what pisses me off is microsoft knew about the failure rate and still released the 360 just to get a head start over the other 2 and in the end that head start is the reason why its ahead of the ps3 which is good for them but not for the consumer who has to sent his 360 in for repair 10 fucking times!!!! damn!
