You heard it here, a game has to sell a million in less than a month to be successful.

My 2500 PS2 flops thread is ringing some serious bells right now.

If this was on an HD console, and it flopped, we wouldn't hear about it, like the dozens of other flops on the HD consoles. The Wii catches all the flak like it is the only system that can have flop games.

Now that we're at it, Valkyria Chronicles should've been on the Wii. Dragon Quest Swords blew that thing out of the water, and it was an on-rails RPG.

See how ridiculous this is?

Right. Because we never hear about HD flops, right? That's why there were tons of threads talking about flopped games like Haze, Too Human, etc. Madworld was a hyped exclusive on this site, so naturally it would get a lot of attention if its numbers didn't seem up to snuff. Most people don't mention HD flops because many of them aren't that notable (such as Conflict: Denied Ops, The Club, or many other titles). As for your Valkyria Chronicles bit, oh please. Dragon Quest is one of the biggest JRPG series on the face of the planet, and Valkyria Chronicles was in a niche genre as well (strategy RPG).

Valkria Chronicles should of outsold Dragon Quest Swords.

It's not Valkria Chronicles fault though.  DQS just sold a crazy amount for what it was.

The spinoffs even of DQ usually don't sell that well.

Outside of the Pokemonesque ones anyway.
