A Child's Smile Predicts Marital Success As an Adult

The intensity of a child's smile at ages as young as 5 is a good predictor of whether that child will have a long marriage.

Researchers from DePauw University asked 650 adults between 21 and 87 for high-school pictures and information about their marital status. They found that those who smiled weakly in photos were three times as likely to have been through a divorce as those with bright scholastic smiles.

Then the same experiment was repeated using pictures from when the adults were 5. These results backed up the initial conclusion.

So now it seems an innate ability to mindlessly grin whenever there's a camera in your face is a key to a happy marriage. We always thought it was birth control.

 O_o uh any thoughts?
