| Sqrl said: Just curious but it is it generally accepted to count poke'mon red blue and green as one game for purposes of sales? That doesn't really make a whole lot of sense to me, I mean convincing your customers to pay for basically the exact same game 3 times is clever and all, but they are different games that don't come as one (as far as I know) and it seems like they should be treated as such. Does anyone know if the two Zelda games were treated as one for sales? According to wikipedias best selling video games listing... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_video_games Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages are treated as seperate games. Just sort of odd that they are lumped is all. I suppose it's a matter of perspective really. In any case I have a pretty good feeling that SMG will be passing Poke'mon, whether you add it up or not. |
The pokemon games were essentially the same game with some extremely slight difference (what pokemon could be caught I believe?), the oracle of seasons and ages were really quite different as far as plot and gameplay went. Oracle of Ages involved you travelling through two different timelines (think OoT) while Oracle of Seasons had you changing the seasons to get different effects. Both had entirely different plots.
Really the only thing linking them was the use of the same engine and the fact that after clocking both games you got access to a 'master boss' of sorts.
So yeah, pokemon games should be counted as one and the oracle games as seperate in my opinion.
