No. The Wii is trending downwards in Japan because it has a lack of appealing releases in a time of greatly expanding handheld releases and some of the biggest releases the PS3 has seen to date. In the west, the Wii has never had this problem and it won't any time soon.

Without trying to apear rude, would you not agree there releases are slim enough westside as well?

The reason is that Japanese people are much more "game-sensitive" than the people in the West. So the Wii basically needs a steady flow of games to keep it going fast.

There you go. Japanese gamers, for whatever reason, are swayed by game releases a lot more than American or European gamers. Besides, even if the Wii's release list is slim in those regions, people will still buy it for the main Wii titles (Wii Sports, Play, and Fit). I imagine that a lot of people in Japan who don't own Wiis have experienced the popular Wii games for themselves or played them heavily with a friend, and thus are less likely to buy the Wii.Being that Japan is so crowded, that's really the only explanation I have. I couldn't explain it otherwise.
