16 at home, but you cannot drink anywhere else or buy the drinks

18 for everything else.

I don't think it needs to be changed.

What does that mean? Momma can buy her 16 year old son alcohol as long as he drinks it at home?

I'm from Aus also but I cant say I've ever heard that one about being 16, but being 18 for everything else is AWESOME!!!

"In some states, Victoria for example, it is deemed acceptable to serve alcohol to a minor in a private home if they are supervised by an adult - who does not have to be a parent. Restrictions on supplying alcohol to minors relate only to licensed premises, or to public venues. State penalties vary from $550 to $20,000."
