Despite use of the word gimmick, I am going to bless this thread with a response.
From a business stand point...
I actually agree. It's unnecessary, it dilutes the Wii user-base further (Wii motes, multiple nunchucks, balance board, classic controller, Gamecube controller). While it may give third parties more oppurtunities to make small games that sell well (Carnival Games, Game Party, EA Playground, etc.), it won't help sell Wii's in the long run (more periphs?) and it more shelf space in retail....
From a gaming perspective...
It's gonna be soooooo bad ass.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
