Well then maybe you just don't like hack and slash games in general. I mean almost all hack and slash games are the same. It's a lot of repetitive attacks followed with a variety of different moves that are usually finishers. Name any other game that is even remotely like Madworld and you'll see what I mean.
It is not the best game in any respect but it is one of the most unique games I have played in a while and not just because of the visual style. The level of gore and blood, the kinds of finishing moves and attacks, and even the punk storyline was very refreshing to play. It may not be the best hack and slash ever made but it was a refreshing play through for the genre.
