God of War will probably hit 500K on the first week. Its not quite as popular as you think. Also that genre hasn't been doing great this generation.
Do you really believe FF13 will sell more than double the 360? What PS3 game has sold twice as many copies as a 360 game? Even popular Capcom games only have a lead of about 200K tops. The PS3 version will most likely sell more but not by that much. 360 owners are also hungry for a good RPG so we might be surprised by what number it pulls in.
I also noticed a lot of people are mentioning GT5. GT3 sold a ton of copies over time and the PS2 was getting record sales. GT4 on the otherhand sold about 5 million less copies when the PS2 had already sold 100 million consoles. With that said said PS3 is a much smaller userbase and is not growing at the rapid pace of the PS2. So I'm not expecting the same outstanding sales.

yeah but u cant compare FF with any other PS vs Xbox game...FF XIII will easily do 2 mill in the first week and that only in japan...then add the europe and american sales and u got 3-4 mill first week....on the xbox this will maybe do 750.000 - mill 1st week and that only cos of the americans...still i think FF XIII will sell more on the ps in america than the xbox

2 million in Japan? Either you think 2/3 PS3 owners will buy the game or it'll move a ton of hardware.
It's safe to say that 360 will cut into some of those sales considering its the same game on a cheaper console. The four best selling 360 games in Japan are RPGs and they have given the console a boost in sales at the time of their release. FF13 will do the same.
The Xbox 360 may seem like a failure in Japan but look at it this way. The PS3 has 3 times as many owners as the 360. But in the last gen the PS2 had about 20 times as many owners as the original Xbox. Not so bad in that perspective, right?
