Hop scotch isn't a game because it doesn't have a story.

Movies and books have stories.  Games involve play within a set of rules, with objectives you try to complete.  They can or can't have a story.  According to your post (assuming you aren't series), none of these are games: Chess, Poker, Checkers, Go, Poker, Pool, or even Bowling.

I was kidding and I completely agree.  I was using the same logic that somebody was using earlier in the thread, when they said that MGS4 is better than Wii Sports because Wii Sports doesn't have a story, even though that would discard almost all sports games, puzzle games, card games, board games, simulators, and the gaming perfection of TETRIS.
