I've been playing Final Fantasy X for..-checks save point-.. 13 hours now and it sorta feels like I've played this game before. After I thought about it a bit, I realized: This game is very identical to Tales of Symphonia.

Tidus is Lloyd.

Auron is Kratos.

Lulu is Rain.

They're going to different temples to get new summons.

It's odd. Anyone else notice that?

Major Spoilers

Colette is supposed to die at the end of the journy (like Yuna was) to save the world for a period of time (like the summoners with Sin being kill for a period of time) then they start the whole cycle again ( having a new summoner go on a journy again to kill Sin again). Lloyd not wanting to let Colette die (like Tidus not wanting to let Yuna die). Then Llyod and the other look for a way to save the world forever with out giving up Colette  (like Tidus and the other look for a way to save the world forever with out giving up Yuna).

You could dig deeper.

MAJOR SPOILERS!

In both games you have to fight (kill) your dads to save the world. In FFX Tidus actually does away with his dad - the final summon/sin, in ToS it's prevented by Yuan saving your pop... that's tied to a summon spirit. Good similarity there.

How about comparing Seymour to Yggdrasil? both halflings (a half guado and a half elf) both wanna bring some crazy ass age of "X" (age of death vs age of half elves), both prevail over a religious-based organizaition that's also a government (high maester of Spira vs head of Cruxis), both obsessed with a person (Yuna vs Martel)...

Destruction of Home vs destruction of Heimdall...

And deeper into FFX-2: Just as the half elves are hated in ToS, the Guado are hated in FFX-2.

The games are REALLY similar, as I said.
