So the best selling game of all time worldwide is the original Super Mario Bros. It sold over 40 million copies.
Considering that the NES sold about 60 million consoles, thats an attach rate of 2/3 or 66%.
Right now worldwide sales of the wii are 11.78 and Wii Sports is at 8.78. An attach rate of 74%.
Because Wii sports is bundled in most territories and is such a hit everywhere. All Nintendo needs to due is out sell the NES and Wii Sports should be the new champion.
It seems like a lot of people are predicting lifetime Wii sales to be way larger than 60 mill. Do you think we can pretty much accept a new champion of gaming when Mario has reigned for so long?
