That article is pure ignorance. "PS360 are more AAA game oriented while Wii is more casual oriented" I don't consider Super Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, Super Smash Bros Brawl, or Metroid Prime 3 casual oriented and all of them have sold great.

The writer failed to mention the fact that very few third party devs have actually release a mainstream AAA game on Wii (RE:4 is the only game that comes to mind).

everyone seems to ignore that...

Except most of the Wii owners... we are the ones who know, and have to deal with it... while the Wii haters just may ignore the facts to have a "more valid point"... they don't care, they don't even play Wii, all they know is their own bias...

They WANT the Wii to remain casual, cos' otherwise, the HD twins are in real trouble... it's like ALL the core games HAVE to be on PS360, and ZERO core game HAS to be on Wii... they want to separate the two "markets", while in the PS2 area, everybody thought it was normal for the market leader to have most games in all the different existing genres, niche or mass market, whatever... nobody cared, as the large userbase meant ANY game with a normal budget and a decent quality could find its audience and make profits...

...because it is a port of a last gen game.   Is that what you want to lift up and praise as proof of third party core games selling on the Wii?  I ask because for every Wii owner who tries to use this as an example there is a Wii owner complaining about ports of last gen games.  Some do both as it suits whatever theyw ant to say in a particular argument.

Terrible example.

For me, no, my comment was only made after that part:

"The writer failed to mention the fact that very few third party devs have actually release a mainstream AAA game on Wii"

There are a few exceptions, of course, and RE4 is one of them, but the fact it's a port or not doesn't change anything to the quality of the game and the quality of the new controls, so... i don't feel any need to debate over it: play the game, don't play it, i don't care, and i don't use it as an example...

But after more than two years, any "serious" gamer have to admit it: there were nearly no AAA, big budget games released on Wii by 3rd parties... you could understand that there's a few less than on PS360... but it's not even a 70/30 situation, it's a 95/5 situation, and it's a real shame, that's all there is to say about it...

Now, if some people add 3rd parties CAN'T have any success on Wii, just based on the success (or lack of) of these same, very rare games... then you have a real problem of logic and total non-sense, as i've previously written in this thread...

You hit it right on the head, my friend. In fact, (not to give myself a plug) but the last thread I created "Why Wii Hate?" Was intended to have people come to that conclusion. For that is the real reason I feel fanboys wish it to fail. As for the analyst...I felt like I was in a time warp back in 2007.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.
