It was a bad movie, but nethertheless amusing, I can admit it, but just because it was full of unintentional humour: the actors were so bad or so alien from the role assigned to them, that they made me laugh just when they weren't supposed to. 
Travolta was in a different and totally his own league: that fixed and dumb stare just cried "Battlefield Earth Again"
