Called Six Days in Fallujah (via GamePolitics and the Los Angeles Times), the new title will be based on the conflict that claimed the lives of 38 soldiers and 1,200 insurgents. Atomic Games, which is known for its work with military combat simulation software, will be handling development, with videos, photos and diaries from the U.S. Marines who took part in the conflict making up the core of the narrative.
"For us, the challenge was how do you present the horrors of war in a game that is also entertaining, but also gives people insight into a historical situation in a way that only a video game can provide?" Atomic Games president Peter Tamte said. "Our goal is to give people that insight, of what it's like to be a Marine during that event, what it's like to be a civilian in the city and what it's like to be an insurgent."
