I've never played an Atari system, but they were damn popular and I'd of course like to use one someday. According to numbers I've seen, the 2600 sold around 31 million units or something, which would mean it's still the best-selling American console ever.
I should also add that my sister thought Atari was a Japanese company until I told her.
