Kirby's Adventure is a must. Don't listen to the other well-intentioned vote for Kirby 64; that doesn't have half the charm of Kirby's Adventure. It was interesting for me to learn now (after a bit of reading) that the Kirby games I enjoyed years ago were precisely the ones created by the original Kirby creator, Masahiro Sakurai, whereas the ones I've always found to be mediocre (especially in level design) were the ones in which he didn't have a hand at all. Here are the Kirby games he worked on, and they're leaps and bounds beyond all other entries in the series:
Of course, he also is perhaps better known for the Smash Bros series, but I'm actually one of the few Nintendo fans who has never really enjoyed a Smash title. So don't go downloading Kirby 64 before you get Adventure, and certainly don't download Dream Land 3 (I hated Dream Land 2 & 3 -- such a letdown after the inventiveness of the first game). |
you haven't played Kirby Air Ride. you need to play that game.
