Well, it is true that gamers should enjoy the games.
But it is also true if they don't sell, there will be no sequels/games of that genre/etc.
Instead, it will get put in the back on the discount rack.
And it is much the same as books or music -- authors and performers who works don't sell don't often get another chance.
