I believe a bulk of the lovers of Sony got their start with the original Playstation. Their only memory of carts are with the Gameboy most likely. Things go WAY back there, even prior to the NES. Atari used to be the king, ended up in the movie Blade Runner, with a sign in the background. Back in that day, arcades were also the shapers of desire, as arcade games are where you happened to test a game out, and the popular ones are what helped sell consoles. This was before they even had videogame rentals.
