@Staude: I actually asked since i don't really know. I have the impression that it haven't done well, or atleast nobody is marketing them.
If someone invents the solution, the matter could be different. Nintendo found a good one with DS that fits the purpose.
The reason why i mentioned touchscreen as a partial solution is, that so far market has been rejecting all complex solutions and touchscreen is a simple one.
