Aww... whats wrong with Poke balls? or assist Trophies? normal hammers?? All of these are good items and can be countered or dodged. Mega Hammers, fans, the ray gun, and to a lesser extent smash balls are all very easily abused in the game, to the point where it would make the game broken.
