Is it Crazzy day today or something?

Since Wii is selling much faster than PS3 the average time of ownership is much lower. It's evident that the longer someone owns a system the more games that person will buy.

Besides it's amazing that Wii has a higher attach rate than PS3, since PS3 is supposed to be a very hardcore system which should lead to a much higher attach rate than the casual Wii.

How ?

That's not how average numbers work.

If you sold 5 Wii 24 months ago, 5 of them 12 months ago and 5 of them 6 months ago then average time of ownership is 14 months.

If you sold 1 PS3 24 months ago, 1 of them 12 months ago and one of them 6 months ago then average time of ownership.

So unless you have calculated this based on the sales numbers in your database you can't say that.  Really I haven't expected error such as this from one of people running sale charts website.

Yes, in your example you're right, but if you calculate it with the real numbers you'll find out that I'm right on this one.

What you ignore in your calculation is that Wii's sales are increasing, which means the average time of ownership decreases. PS3's sales are decreasing, which means an increase in average time of ownership.

If Wii sells 500 for a year and now 600 for a year the average time of ownership obviously decreases

Hmm... I'm not completely sure how I'd go ahead with the numbers, so what I do now may be incorrect.

Total sold in the last 12 months:

Wii: 26.11M

Ps3: 10.36M

Total sold (lifetime to date)

Wii: 49.08M

Ps3: 21.55M

Percentage sold in last 12 months:

Wii: 53%

Ps3: 48%

So you're right Benga.
