What you ignore in your calculation is that Wii's sales are increasing, which means the average time of ownership decreases. PS3's sales are decreasing, which means an increase in average time of ownership.

 

If Wii sells 500 for a year and now 600 for a year the average time of ownership obviously decreases

To sum it up, new owners have fewer games than long time owners.   PS3 sales are going down (year over year), meaning more long-time owners, Wii sales are going up (YOY), meaning more new owners.
