I usually end up missing 1 or 2 event pokemon each generation.

Yellow - 151
Silver - 250 (missing Celebi)
Sapphire - 385 (missing Celebi)
LeafGreen - 385 (missing Celebi.... again)
Pearl - 491 (missing Arceus and Shaymin)
