I don't see how any of the features will contribute to a better game. I personally have a ds because the games are cheap, there are always used copies, the battery is incredible, and it has quite a few interesting features (aside from the mic IMO).

The DSi has expanded functionality which will be incorporated into gameplay (see DSiWare's Wario Ware game).  Plenty of people who own DSLites are going to buy the new DSi, myself included.  You'll see evidence of this in the coming weeks when DS numbers skyrocket on the front page.
