I don't think anyone has said that the PS3 will overtake the ps1. We just get annoyed at Xbots creating thread upon thread about the ps3, proving their insecurity. Everybody is going around claiming that the PS3 is doomed despite it selling almost as much as the 360 at a 2 times higher price.

Well, thats their opinion. I haven't looked at the comparisons between ps3 and ps1 so I don't have an opinion on the matter. But if you think that's incredulous then what about the xbots who say that the 360 has a better 2009 lineup than ps3? What about those who say that the 360 gives better value? What about those who celebrate everywhere on the forums after the 360 outsells the ps3 by a mere 29k, despite the ps3 being twice the price?

It's their opinion. They are entitled to it, whether you agree with it or not. Arguing over things so subjective is rather pointless. This isn't like comparing the sales rate of the PS3 to the PS2 or PS2, 360 to the X-box, or Wii to the Gamecube. Those comparison's rely on hard numbers.
