Joe, I don't think its a matter of who's a PS3 fanboy and who's a Wii fanboy or whatever. What's happening is that people are investing way too much emotional energy into supporting their system. If their system gets bashed, they take it almost as an attack on them and then respond with personal shots at the other posters. This happens all the time with sports teams and stuff too.
i suppose this helps to define the "hardcore" gamer. The "casual" gamer would never get offended or emotionally invested about his/her videogame systems.
