I think this interview shows the disdain that Nintendo has for the gaming periodicals/magazines/sites that hold themselves up as the guardians of gaming.

And given the way these places have treated the market leader, the treatment is probably deserved.

Last year at E3, the AP gaming writer blasted Nintendo while the AP general writer praised it.

This generation did not go the way anyone expected it to. Only Nintendo saw the possibility of a sea change. That means a lot of people were expecting realistic graphics to overwhelm consumers. Instead, they got caught up by silly avatars swinging tennis rackets.

The one thing that I agree with that some people have raised against Nintendo is that some iterations of its traditional franchises have been only incremental improvements over past editions. Animal Crossing: City Folk comes to mind here. Also, Nintendo is not without its failed games. Donkey Kong Barrel Blast comes to mind here.

The Wii is not for everyone. You have to like more than shooting people in games to enjoy it.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.
