I have only S&P (60 Hz only) and Lylat Wars (a.k.a. Starfox 64) on the VC. Lylat Wars always had a solid framerate, so I didn't notice any difference.
The 50 Hz effect is pronounced the most on N64 games though, due to the low framerates. A game that ran at 30 fps in 60 Hz, would only display 25 fps in 50 Hz while the remaining 5 frames would be displayed in the following second. Games with lower framerates than that (and some N64 games had that) can be a real problem, because they don't run smooth at all.

I checked it and you're right, PAL games run at 50Hz on the VC. It sucks in theory, but I must VC games seem to run smoother on the VC than on their old consoles. Not sure how that is possible though.

It's true, though. Lylat Wars originally ran too smoothly on the VC release, so that the slowdown effect from the game's tremendous explosions was lost and everything felt less impressive. They actually had to reintroduce the slowdown
