The Wii is the next generation console after the Gamecube.
Sony is thinking of the Gamecube. The Wii is a different approach at a generational shift, just because it's not exactly like what they've done doesn't mean it is PS2 generation.
The Wii may not be that much more powerful in terms of specs, but it is next generation. Or new generation, or whatever you wanna call it. It's just not the same as Gamecube, at all. Both in terms of social paradigm and actual proposal.
