It's stupid that she won't attack enemies who are killing her right in front of her face, even if she is on cover. What kind of bullcrap is that?

Judging by what happened to me at the end, you thought it was a perfect implementation? How the hell do you reason that? It only made me hate the last boss even more than I already did.

 

First play through I have her a gun and the AK74. When I felt she had enough MG ammo I stopped letting her get handgun ammo( basically I took all the handgun ammo I needed and only gave her the leftovers)..

When she would get low on MG ammo I would give her back some handgun ammo ( but she only fires MG ammo by burst of 3 so they actually last her a lot longer than handgun ammo). 

She is kinda bad with a handgun only and no infinite ammo, she shoots a bit too much. But somehow she manages her ammo a lot better for the Machine gun ( turns out that the burst of 3 she fires are usually enough to kill most enemies so it's kinda good( if they don't die they will at least stop and fall to the ground)).
