I don't know about you guys but if I was an uncle and I had a nephew or niece with a 5th or 6th birthday coming up I'd be pretty willing to get him a $99 PS2 and some great classic games that I know are quality and really cheap then to spend $250 on a Wii with $40 games. I'm sure a lot of other gift givers out there, a lot of which may not even know video games, would see a $99 price tag and think that is a very good gift for a youngster.

 

You make a very good point. A person could buy the PS2 with tons of games for the same price of just a Wii. I remember that when I was a youngster the gifts of quantity always were better than the more expensive gifts. This could give the PS2 more sales from these types of people.
