It unfortunately still will be a failure if it can't bring back 3rd party support or software sales. The PSP slim and Lite have both brought a great deal of hope to the handheld and this has been a fantastic week for it, but if these numbers can't hold up and if you're not selling PSP slims to people who don't already own a PSP your software sales aren't going to increase by much if all. With people wanting to replace their regular PSPs and with the 77,777 limited edition FF7 PSPS, its really hard to gauge how many newcomers were actually brought in by the handheld's new look. Furthermore the fact that almost all of their software sales this week in Japan were FF7:CC, doesn't show much else in terms of PSP games were selling that well. |
So selling more then 25 million units is still a failure? Also, should we not count all those DS lite's that were bought by those who had the DS? Oh no, we can't do that because you love Nintendo and that doesn't count, so we count all the DS sales even if they just wanted to upgrade to the Lite.
Software sales will pick up and I know alot of people who are picking them up now that have no games. Will this be a momentary build up in sales? We'll find out, but as long as the games come out they will sell. The last time I flew somewhere I was actually able to find people to play PSP games with while waiting for the flights to board.
My pokemon brings all the nerds to the yard. And they're like, "You wanna trade cards?" Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I'll trade this, but not my charizard.
