Yeee-ikes, DMJ, you're pushing people's buttons fast and hard.

I'm not interested in the larger discussion because it's all been done before and is so flammable. Therefore, I will just make these more specific and directed observations:

1) Madworld has sold poorly. The likelihood of a recovery after this type of second week is very small, but stranger things have happened.
2) This bodes very poorly for other similar games on the Wii, as it was one of only a select few that fit this description. Sega said that other publishers were watching Madworld/HotD "closely," and thus Madworld performing poorly is a bad sign for similar games down the road.

You can argue it's a niche title obviously and omg why can't everyone see this, but that argument is moot: what publishers care about is the bottom line. The bottom line is that Madworld has sold poorly. Sorry folks.
