So basically your definition of a shooter is any game that has a gun in it then ?

Besides MGS4 actually rewards you for not shooting things, that's hardly  the case for a shooter ( where they want you to...shoot things (surprise?)).

I suppose you didn't notice the part where I said I wasn't claiming it either way?

My point was that the definition of a shooter that you implied is flawed.

 

So what's your definition of a shooter ?

Mine would be a game where the main way to progress( and easiest) is to shoot the enemies put in your way....

 

 

There are games which are hard to define and MGS4 may well be one of them. Some games span a few genres...
