8,5 is normally considered as "great" according to most reviewers, so if you don't consider the game as great but as "good" a score of under 80% is the best way to review it.
To me the game would score 79%. A very good game but not utterly great. About the same score which Famitsu gave for it. I think that's a pretty good score.
I also think a lot of reviewers will score the game much lower simply as WII games which require a good amount of control handling, they easily criticize it as being bad. We've seen that with an Excite Truck for instance, which is really a damn good game!
I also play Playstation and Nintendo stuff, so for not being a die hard WII gamer is really noncense to review such a game with good objective scores.
I really like the fact you at least appreciate the game just as much as I do ;)
