I think you guys are not understanding what each other wants to say? 
Mesoteto thinks teaching his daughter religion is good for her while the others want to express that you don't need to teach your children what religion is to make them good persons. Both opinions are ok if you ask me.
Look Mesoteto, I also wouldn't want my daughter to take drugs, etc. but I'd teach her that without using religion. I think my children should be able to decide for themselves. I'm still a person with high values, though.
