Capcom’s ‘Resident Evil 5’ clings to the top of the All Formats chart for a third consecutive week despite a 51% drop in sales, positioning it ahead of a resilient ‘Wii Fit’, also a non-mover at No2.

‘Resident Evil 5’ equals ‘Resident Evil 3’ as the longest serving title in the series to remain at No1 in the All Formats chart, both with 3 weeks at the top. Capcom manages to capitalize on an absence of any new releases making the All Formats Top 10 with a 2nd week of price promotion on ‘Street Fighter IV’ boosting sales by 7% and launching it to No3, up from No7. Nintendo’s ‘Professor Layton’ isn’t far behind, down from No3 to No4, suffering a 40% fall in sales, but staying ahead of THQ’s ‘WWE Legends of Wrestlemania’ which is also down 1 place, slipping from No4 to No5. ‘Wheelman’ co-published by Ubisoft and Midway misses out on an All Formats Top 10 debut, new at No11. Last year’s blockbusters ‘FIFA 09’ and ‘Call of Duty: World at War’ and even 2007’s Christmas No1 ‘Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’ are the Top 10’s star performers this week. Both ‘FIFA 09’ and Call of Duty: World at War’ are up 3 places to No’s 6 and 7 respectively, while ‘COD 4’ manages an All Formats Top 10 reappearance at No9, up from No15. The last time it made the All Formats Top 10 was back in week 23 2008. ‘Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars’ drops 2 places in its 2nd week, down to No8, while Ubisoft’s ‘Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X.’ has its wings clipped, perched precariously at No10, down from No5. There are re-entries for ‘Pro Evolution Soccer 2009’ at No22 and ‘Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3’ at No25 thanks to the release of the Wii version of PES and PS3 version of C&C.
