to clarify from my earlier post. (I was going to edit but there are too many intervening posts)

The Wii is currently tracking about 20,000,000 ahead of the PS2, which bodes very well for its future prospects. However, I'm not at all convinced it will still be selling 60-80k/week in November 2015 (which is equivalent to what the PS2 has done) given the fact that it is 1) less powerful compared to the competition than the PS2 was, meaning it will "age" faster. 2) it won't outsell PS3/360 combined sales by 3-4 times. and 3) it has far, FAR fewer AAA games than the PS2 did at a comparable time in the lifecycle and we aren't seeing any real signs that that is changing despite the fact that the Wii has been universally recognized as the generation leader for nearly two years.

Now, the fact that it is tracking so far ahead may be enough to offset this, but it's pretty much up in the air at this point.
