Recently, I was sent a package containing a loaner copy of Pokemon Platinum for the Nintendo DS.

The reason why I got the loaner of Pokemon Platinum was for review purposes for my site at GamersBlock.com. In reviewing the game, I put a lot of hours into playing the game, and through that; I became quite attached to Pokemon Platinum. My time with Pokemon Platinum is coming to an end, and I will be purchasing Pokemon Platinum as soon as next week. What really irks me about Nintendo is that they haven’t implemented an alternate storage solution for their handheld systems. I would have like when I return Pokemon Platinum, that I can at least keep the save file that I created and carry it over to my purchased copy. The days of using their propriety media to hold game and save files should have been long dead on the handheld side. Even back in the 90s, I hated the fact that I would rent games that I couldn’t beat in 3-5 days and when I returned them, I ran the risk that the next person will delete my save file.

We all know the DSI contains an SD cart slot, right? I would really appreciate if Nintendo offers an alternate game save solution on SD cards for all DS and future Dsi cartridge releases ASAP! Would anyone else?
